Empowering Burn Survivors: Adventure, Growth, and Team Building
Surrounded by firefighters, nurses, and medical therapists, campers are encouraged to step outside their everyday comfort zones. Activities like ropes courses and wilderness skills help build self-esteem and confidence in burn survivors who may struggle in these areas at home or school.
Many burn camps offer traditional summer camp experiences, giving children the chance to participate in a variety of outdoor activities, including swimming, boating, hiking, fishing, and archery.
Throughout these burn camps, numerous activities focus on team-building. These fun and constructive activities help burn survivors get to know one another, build trust, and learn to work together effectively.
